Full time– 35hr/wk

Carrier Sekani Family Services (CSFS) is recruiting for a Mental Health Clinical Supervisor for Child and Youth to join the remarkable growing team of our Health & Wellness programs. The Mental Health Clinical Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all clinical activities carried out by mental health professionals working within the child and youth program.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Program:

Provide leadership and support by responding to queries with quality, holistic and culturally relevant best practices to clinical staff in accordance with legislation, directives, ministry policy, standards and approved procedures.
Provide guidance and direction to clinical staff with challenging and urgent cases in a timely manner
Conduct team case consultations
Participate in program development and evaluation
Identify process gaps and risk management issues
Plan, promote, participate in home visits, workshops, community events, etc. to increase outreach and awareness in our member nations within the Aboriginal Child and Youth Mental Health Team
Consult and liaise with external agencies as appropriate in addition to developing relationships and collaborating with key stakeholders such as community agencies and referral sources
Act as the second step of appeal for clients who disagree with workers decisions
Evaluates the delivery and impact through the implementation and improvement of data collections systems, data interpretation and conversion to useful information
Prepare and submit month end reports and other paperwork in a timely manner
Provide ongoing file audits
Provide regular status reports including issues identification and strategies to address them
Monitor the effectiveness and standard of services and report areas of concern along with recommendations
Provide input or recommend changes to existing or proposed programs, policies, procedures and systems
Assist in the development of program long range goals, with management and staff involvement
Administration:

Provide annual employee evaluations on all clinical staff in conjunction with Health and Wellness Manager
Ensure staff annual work plans are completed in a timely manner
Advise clinical staff of learning opportunities
Ensure each clinical staff person has the professional qualifications and designations required to carry out their duties (including critical incident stress management certification)
Advise the program manager of any clinical staff concerns
Assist in support for the integrated care teams as necessary
Other:

Maintain and develop professional clinical and supervisory competencies through participation in a variety of learning opportunities such as seminars, workshops and conferences.
Performs other duties as assigned
Qualifications and Educational Requirements

Master’s Degree in a mental health related field
Registration with a mental health related professional board
At least 8 years’ experience in a related field
At least 5 years’ experience in mental health related management
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Working/Special Conditions

This position routinely deals with a high degree of stress due to the complexity of issues, time pressure for decision making, unforeseen circumstances, changing priorities and uncertainty. Exposure to regular travel to remote locations and overnight travel is required.

Communication with a wide variety of internal and external clients is required
Will be required to work evenings and weekends at times
